The Student Leadership Certificate was developed as a collaboration between the Rutgers School of Communication, Information, and Library Studies ( SCILS ) and the Center for Organizational Development and Leadership ( ODL ).

The mission of the program is to enrich student's knowledge of leadership theories as well as engage students in problem-solving, decision-making, intercultural sensitivities, systematic thinking, self-awareness, and other leadership experiences.

The Leaderrship studies with co-curricular leadership experiences and participation in an annual leadership conference.

The Certificate program is designed to serve students from all New Brunswick colleges and academic units, and is an interdisciplinary, interdepartmental program of study.
